The objective of this research is to recognize beliefs and attitudes in relation to the justification of partner violence. In relation to this, a qualitative research methodology was used, through a semi-structured interview that allowed us to have an approach to the participants' points of view in relation to the previously mentioned topic. The type of research used was the content analysis of the interviews conducted with 8 participants between men and women over 18 years of age, who at the time of the interview were in a relationship. To recognize the beliefs and attitudes of the participants, 5 categories of analysis were considered, one of which proved to be of little relevance. To this end, the most relevant were those related to beliefs about the behavior of the perpetrator, responsibility for the act, image of the victim and distortion of the consequences. Therefore, it could be concluded that these aspects are of great incidence in the justification of violent behavior in the relationships of the participants. On the other hand, the implications of these findings for research and intervention for the prevention of partner violence are analyzed.
