The purpose of this research is to recognize the sociodemographic characteristics of women in each type of household and the changes they have had between 2000 and 2015 in Colombia, based on data from the National Demography and Health Survey. The document is structured in seven chapters: background and the conceptual framework are presented in Chapter 1; followed methodology is described in Chapter 2; from 3th to 6th Chapter, each chapter answers an specific objective set out in the research project, therefore each chapter includes its results, discussion of the results and conclusions; in Chapter 3, the type of household at national and regional level is stated; in Chapter 4, sociodemographic characteristics of women are presented; in Chapter 5, the type of women's unions at national and regional level are described; in Chapter 6, it is changes in the fertility of women in Colombia, according to the type of household are stated. Finally, in Chapter 7 are concluded our findings.
