This project is located right at the core of Valledupar’s city center, where urban and historical values combine to create the ideal meeting point for everyone nearby. Unfortunately, many of these values, such as public squares or city alleys, are not being taken good care of, which puts this area in danger of being forgotten and, eventually, disappearing. This is why this project’s goal is to recover and reconcile all meeting spaces through urban acupuncture, by connecting and reinforcing the areas through a meeting system. By generating a system that integrates old alleys, public squares and regular streets, we’d be connecting, reinforcing and bringing the area back to life. At a more specific scale, this project shows evidence of how the meeting system works by taking the data from 5th street between 13b and 16a streets from north to south and from 4th street all the way to 6th street from east to west. At a neighborhood level, this project states a cultural entrepreneurship center that will work through a real-estate integration that will encourage different activities such as craftmanship, culinary and textile related activities as well as opportunities to showcase the local talent. This proposal also includes several spaces for art related activities by adapting the environment to these different practices.
