Competency-based education emerges as a solution to the demands of today's world, so it is common to see that the different institutions that offer higher education programs take these as their training model. But regarding the methodology of implementation and evaluation, it is not currently clear what is causing the institutions to have errors in terms of the training of their students. This has resulted in students being dissatisfied with the training acquired, considering that many of the skills taught to them are not applicable to their working life. For this reason it is decided to make a study to the interns students of the economics program in the period 2015 - 2017-1 and students who to date were studying XIII and IX semester that had not been done in order to analyze the importance that they have the specific competences adopted by the university for the program, for the academic formation and their professional development. The results allow to identify that the students currently do not have enough clarity in front of the competences that they are acquiring during their academic training, allowing that in some cases be given greater importance or weight to those belonging to programs such as accounting and administration, likewise it has a low level in story to the acquisition of some of the powers especially that which refers to the emphasis that manages the race.
