This research presents a story about the different usages that have had the tool of context within the Justice and Peace system, created through Act No. 975 of 2005. In this story, the emergence of Justice and Peace system will be described; the challenges that its implementation implied will be examined, also the reforms of the Legal Framework for Peace and the Act No. 1592 of 2012 will be studied, through which the uses of the “context” tool were delimited; to end with the analysis of the tensions that such uses produce.
