INCIDENCE OF THE STUDENT COUNSELING IN THE REDUCTION OF PROBLEMS OF BEHAVIOR OF THE SCHOOLS IN THE GRAN COLOMBIA FISCAL EDUCATIONAL UNIT OF THE CITY OF PORTOVIEJO, MANABI, ECUADOR RESUMEN La Constitucion de la Republica del Ecuador vigente establece como obligacion del Estado proteger, apoyar y promover el desarrollo integral de ninos, ninas, adolescentes y jovenes en el proceso de crecimiento, maduracion y desarrollo de su intelecto y de sus capacidades, potencialidades y aspiraciones, en un entorno familiar, escolar, social y comunitario de afectividad y seguridad. En esta aspiracion juega un papel destacado la institucion educativa. En este sentido el Ministerio de Educacion, en correspondencia con la Ley Organica de Educacion Intercultural, con la finalidad de lograr una convivencia armonica dentro de los centros educativos crea los Departamentos de Consejeria Estudiantil que estan conformados por un grupo de profesionales de diversas disciplinas cuya mision es velar por el desarrollo integral de los escolares; el trabajo interdisciplinario de estos equipos insta a que puedan aportar desde experticia propia de sus perfiles orientaciones que les permita afrontar las distintas dificultades que se presentan en el contexto educativo. En el articulo se aborda la manera en que, desde la conceptualizacion, estructura y funciones de los Departamentos de Consejeria Estudiantil se puede contribuir a reducir los problemas de conducta que manifiestan los escolares en una institucion educativa. Se ejemplifica en el caso de la Unidad Educativa Fiscal Gran Colombia de la Ciudad de Portoviejo y se analizan las visiones de padres de familia y docentes acerca del papel jugado por esta instancia de orientacion educativa. ABSTRACT The Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador in force establishes as an obligation of the State to protect, support and promote the integral development of children, adolescents and young people in the process of growth, maturation and development of their intellect and their capacities, potentialities and aspirations, in a family, school, social and community atmosphere of affection and security. In this aspiration, the educational institution plays a prominent role. In this sense, the Ministry of Education, in correspondence with the Organic Law of Intercultural Education, with the purpose of achieving a harmonious coexistence within the educational centers, creates the Student Advisory Departments that are formed by a group of professionals from various disciplines whose mission it is to ensure the integral development of schoolchildren; the interdisciplinary work of these teams urges that they can contribute from their own expertise of their profiles orientations that allow them to face the different difficulties that arise in the educational context. The article deals with the way in which, from the conceptualization, structure and functions of the Student Counseling Departments can contribute to reduce the behavioral problems that the students show in an educational institution. It is exemplified in the case of the Gran Colombia Fiscal Education Unit of the City of Portoviejo and the visions of parents and teachers about the role played by this instance of educational guidance are analyzed.
