Durante los ultimos anos ha surgido una nueva orientacion de la investigacion agropecuaria, como una alternativa viable que incorpora e integra los avances de la informacion, mediante el uso de modelos y otros. El desarrollo de estas herramientas metodologicas permiten integrar las informaciones fisico-biologicas y las socioeconomicas, teniendo como objetivo principal ofrecer alternativas para la toma de decisiones. El desarrollo alcanzado por la inteligencia artificial y en particular el area de simulacion, permitira a los investigadores, extensionistas y productores la prediccion y simulacion de realidades, para tomar decisiones utiles y oportunas.
