Abstract:

The objective of this research was to evaluate the consumption of food in the peasant families of the village La Requilina, Usme linked to ULATA during the first quarter of the year 2018. A quantitative observational descriptive study was conducted with a convenience sampling of 12 families peasants. Families were socioeconomically characterized and food consumption was determined through a 24- hour pre-designed registration questionnaire. The socioeconomic results of most of the population ranged between $781.242 COP and $1.562.484 COP, of which $301.000-400.00 went to food, and all families have a family garden, where half of the population sells the food grown and the other half sold and consumed. Regarding the consumption component, 66.6% of adults and 70% of children have an excessive intake of energy and macronutrients. The most consumed group of foods was cereals, roots, tubers and bananas, with greater inclination towards the refined grains, in second place, the group of fruits and vegetables was found, finally a low consumption of milk and derivatives was observed.
