This paper analyzes the articulation of the academy's research processes –Institutions of Higher Education–, in the innovation processes of technology-based companies and technology-intensive companies and the impact that this interaction has on development of a country It is part of the problem of poor coordination between the needs of companies and research centers of universities. From the methodological aspect, this research is descriptive and documentary, on primary sources of information such as Redcluster Colombia and secondary sources of texts and articles. The final reflection concludes that the issue of companies of technological intensity in Colombia is in an initial phase, greater participation is needed by IES and local sites in each region, more socialization must be made in university communities and the sector Business agglomerated the economic and social benefits of the region.
