This thesis is carried out in the Kepis of Colombia Company, which is the Kepis-type cap manufacturer for the private and public sector, focus on private security and Colombian military forces. The problems that the company presents in the manufacturing process of the Private Security Kepis are addressed, where there is a low productivity associated with different problems, such as the overload of activities for the same operator, the distance of routes between jobs and idle times of the workers due to delays or imperfections. For this is the reason is created an improvement plan of the production process of the product selected: Private security Kepis, through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools (Heijuka, 5's, Layout, Visual Management Boards and VSM), which allow the management and control of the related processes to increase productivity and decrease the amount of waste. Likewise, the simulation is built in Flexsim in order to evaluate the impact of the improvement of this project. As a result, this thesis will allow the company to minimize time, transport and bottlenecks, as well as achieve greater productivity and standardization of processes so that Kepis de Colombia is increasingly competitive.
