This work purpose is to show, from the frame of interrogation the self-representation as a speech, the relationship between sexuality, morality and policy in Reinaldo Arena´s autobiography, Before Night Falls. In order to identify the subjections process and the place that takes literature as a possibility of political resistance, suggesting, as a reading way, Reinaldo Arena´s autobiography as a mask´s play determinated by the relationship that Arenas, as a subject inside the narration, supports with the moral and political paradigms of Cuban Revolution. As well, the work seeks to recognize the configuration of the self-represented “I” in other textual spaces and materialities with the intention of proposing the self-representation as a political gesture that operates on life.
