Rethinking the disciplinary scope of Literary Studies, this academic work embarks on the investigation of popular religious practices in the rural community of Chiquiza (Boyaca, Colombia). Analysing the tight relation between the religious and the political it aims to question the hegemonic centres of knowledge and interpretation from a peripheral or “ex-centric” (out of the centre) point of view.
