The promotion of health and safety at work has been an important objective over the last few years, given that accidents and occupational diseases are situations that often occur in many Colombian companies. The implementation of occupational safety and health management systems has been a central strategy of the national policy to promote health and the prevention of work-related illness and accidents in the country, one of the elements that has been found relevant addressing in these management systems is that related of awareness. However, this issue is not precise and diffuse when it is addressed, possibly due to the lack of definitions applicable to the field of occupational safety and health; for this reason it is important to systematize the experience of the activities that are aimed at raising awareness of the safety and health at work of workers in a company at the country, where they will identify the specific elements or characteristics of various awareness raising activities implemented in occupational safety and health programs for the prevention of accidents in the metalworking industry of oil services, based on strengthening those personal and work aspects that can influence the awareness of the individual at your workplace.
