This article is based on the hypothesis that, the greater the use of expository texts, the better the degree of reading comprehension of students, seeks to highlight, some results emanating from research, “Reading practices with expository texts to improve reading comprehension. in the 5th grade students “, through some didactic sequences, in the Educational Institutions San Pablo and Compartir. The research under a qualitative approach and with the design of the sequences with intentional strategies and activities, allowed to establish some considerations regarding the teaching-learning processes of reading comprehension for students and teachers, enhancing the work with the expository texts.
