The aim of the research was to determine the similarities and differences between the factors of transformational and transactional leadership in outcome variables with organizational commitment and occupational wear between Mexican and Colombian samples, from Bass & Avolio (1994) model. The sample consisted of 240 professionals (n = 240), 112 Mexicans and 128 Colombians. The structural equation model showed that affective commitment directly affects significantly more on the effectiveness and to a lesser extent in the extra effort, reflecting significant differences in the explained variance from the R Square, being higher in the professionals Colombians, compared to Mexicans. The instruments showed adequate levels of validity in the confirmatory factor analysis; obtaining one factor in each of the subscales and .60 variance explained above. Reliability coefficients Cronbach's alpha were higher than .70 in all subscales. The results support hypothesis according transcultural alleged differences and similarities etic and emic ethnopsychology Diaz-Guerrero (1996) for cultural studies, its importance is relevant for organizational social psychology.
