The changes in communications and the interconnection of the world, through the flows of commercial, political, economic, cultural and social exchange that bring globalization processes, have led to the emergence of various conflicts and forces. This, in a constant dialogue between the dynamics and local structures of the nation-states and the global scenario. From this perspective, I consider that, as social scientists, and perhaps one of the most important challenges we have, is to give an account of how these relationships are woven and generated. Thus, this research is primarily motivated by the contribution of cultural studies and a broader interdisciplinary dialogue in the framework of political science and international relations. While globalization and the transit of goods expands, also various forms and cultural meanings of societies constantly transit and interact in a dialogue between the local and the global prespectives. In its wake, various conflicts develop that are interwoven in these dialogues, in which music is not alien, because, on the contrary, it connects with political, social, cultural and global representations. My interest in this research is to understand these relationships between culture, market and music from a hybrid perspective, trying to contribute to theories closer to praxis regarding the experiences of the people and actors that are part of these discussions, in the light of Petronio Alvarez Pacific Music Festival.
