La investigacion es una de las funciones sustanciales de todo educador, junto con la proyeccion social y la docencia, sumado a esto el bilinguismo, como un elemento de internacionalizacion, especialmente en contextos educativos, donde lo mas importante es ir a la vanguardia ante este mundo globalizado. El factor diferenciador podria estar enmarcado en la ensenanza de una lengua extranjera, aspecto que se haria mas facil, si va acompanado de la investigacion. Asi lo han entendido y lo han asumido las universidades que actualmente ofertan programas con un enfasis en ingles. Estas ademas de ofrecer la formacion en una lengua extranjera, deberian desarrollar procesos investigativos que hagan de la educacion, un proceso con calidad. In addition, the essential nature of bilingualism is now recognized in today's world; especially in educational contexts where the competition to be on the cutting edge or to stand above the rest of the pack is fierce. This desire to stand out can be enhanced by the teaching of foreign languages and research. Thus, these universities that now offer their programs with an emphasis in English are known as bilingual universities. Furthermore, this training in a second language should also include quality educational research.
