This thesis aims to ground the theological dimensions present in the mourning process due to the death of the marriage partner. In this paper, the research of the anthropological aspects of the documental information about mourning of the marriage partner's death was integrated with three interviews of persons who have undergone precisely this mourning process, to tease out the theological dimensions present in this process. This paper concludes by proposing the theological dimensions –Christological, Ecclesiological, and Sacramental dimensions as guidelines for the pastoral work of spiritual counseling the surviving mourners.
