Migration is a social event that affects the economic development of countries. Within the migratory profile, the place of origin and sex, are components that influence the assimilation of migrants in the places of destination. Therefore, this document analyzes the migratory profile of Colombians and Mexicans by gender. These two countries were chosen because, due to their geographical position, they allow to show differences in the profile of the migrants, in addition to the ethnic enclaves already established in places of destination such as the United States. For this purpose, information was used from the Project on Latin American Migration (LAMP) and the Mexican Migration Project (MMP). It was evidenced that there is a greater migration of married Colombian women of productive ages to Europe with a medium level of education and expectations of employment in domestic services. While in Mexico more married men between the ages of 15 and 29 migrate, with a secondary education level, they work in jobs that require greater strength and their main destination is the United States.
