The linking of higher education students in Colombia for their internship is one of the most important processes of university life and migration to the labor market. This, because it is the first real approach (unless there is previous work experience) to the current world of work, where students can observe the differences between the logic of academics and business logic. At the same time, it allows you to improve your skills (technical, social, managerial and soft), regardless of the field of action of your studies, allowing you to insert into the labor market more prepared professionals for the constant challenges posed today by national and international companies. The objective of this work is to determine the degree of benefit it delivers, in this case CENCOSUD COLOMBIA S.A., to the training process as a Business Administrator and how the professional practices of university students benefit the companies. Is there real mutual benefit between the Academy and Companies or is it just to fulfill social purposes in the eyes of the Colombian State and Society? In this context, i allude to the social purposes with the State (Decree 1779 of May 2009), the commitments acquired by companies to carry out programs for hiring interns. We will answer this question, through the breakdown of information regarding CENCOSUD S.A., its history, processes and organizational culture. Deepening in the relationship of the process of selection of practitioners and the knowledge provided by the academic teaching of the university. I invite you to read conscientiously and take the knowledge that you want to capture and transmit, as it will allow you to better understand how is a labor selection process and approach to the business reality of large companies such as CENCOSUD COLOMBIA SA, and not only in large companies such as these are applicable to any selection process, which allows university students to have more possibilities to obtain their professional practices.
