The objective of this paper is to show the implementation of a virtual assistant - chatbot that allows facilitating the most frequent queries made by the students in the secretariat of the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Simon Bolivar and improve the information process. Currently, it is difficult to obtain the required information on time, due to the volume of users who come to request it or because sometimes the functionary is not available to solve it, which brings dissatisfaction on the part of the students due to the time it takes to supply your needs. Motivated by the problem in this article, the results of the development of a software tool that uses artificial intelligence to provide information from the input words and respond in a similar way as a person behind any device, and understand the sentences provided by the user in natural language. The tool offers the user interaction in real time, providing answers to frequently asked questions. It is concluded that the chatbots reduce time, in that the consultancies by the secretariat, are not going to be necessary and with this, that time is used in other functions of greater scope, the immediate needs of the students are met and the information is more accurate.
