Abstract:
Work and family are interdependent dimensions that influence the development, life, and productivity of each person. This research explores workers’ perspectives on the strategies that have been set for the benefit of the work-family relation in a regional office of a public entity located in southwesternColombia. This is done through the analysis of a questionnaire based on the Family-Responsible Employer Index (IFREI ©) by the IESE Business School and two focus groups. It was found that the implementation of policies aimed to strengthen the company as family-responsible is still a road under construction, which is influenced by the working environment and organizational culture, promoted by managers and limited by national policies at the local level.
