This document presents the partial results of the research project: Comparative analysis of the competitiveness of Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile between 2012 and 2017 according to the global competitiveness report of the World Economic Forum. For this study the 11 pillar of business sophistication was taken. The approach was descriptive, statistical and correlational, rankings and seores of each country were taken between 2011 and 2017 and a comparison of their evolution was made, highlighting the most important events for each nation. The study concludes that Ecuador and Colombia have sophisticated their businesses by expanding the value chain and increasing the number of local suppliers. Chile has deteriorated its position, reducing its competitive advantage. The correlation indicated that the sophistication of the business and the growth of GDP are directly related to 83.3% for Chile. For Ecuador and Colombia the ratio is inversely, -36.3% and -55.2% respectively.
