This academic year is the result of a research on the impact generated by the Cultural Groups of the National University of Colombia Medellin Headquarters (UNAL MED) within the framework of a professional practice in order to obtain the title of Sociologist of the University of Antioquia. In the first place, and because it is a professional practice, a general diagnosis is presented on the Culture Section, administrative body of University Welfare in charge of the cultural programs and promoter of the Cultural Groups. Subsequently, it is investigated by the motivations that students have to enter the Groups, the collective dynamics within the cultural groups and the life trajectories impacted by the university cultural process. All this information is taken into account to finally propose a discussion on the type of training proposed by the Cultural Groups and its impact on the educational context of UNAL MED. Among other things, the research has a qualitative methodology based on the design and application of interviews, life stories and a group workshop. In terms of theory, the reduction of the complexity inherent to the systemic theory is taken into account and theoretical foundations on the university system, the humanistic formation and the integral formation.
