The article is a partial product of a study on emotions and society held at the Universidad Antonio Narino. We sought to illustrate how resentment can stimulate the specific social relations and democracy. To do this, after a theoretical reflection, are two examples: the relationship between a journalist and President Alvaro Uribe, and the corruption and public opinion in the case of “Agroingreso Seguro” (as government policy to support the agricultural sector). From a qualitative data analysis documentary notes how resentment can provoke revenge actions that become a “public control” over the actors, how this feeling can be channeled to increase social solidarity and thus how they can be used to potentiate the action in politics, democracy and citizenship.
