The purpose of this work focused on analyzing the management of events from a perspective of the strategic planning in the private universities in the Maracaibo municipality (city, URU, unique and UJGH). The study is sustenance in the theory of Munch (2008), Alarico (2006), Serna (2006), Frances (2005) and Goldblatt (2003). The research is typified as descriptiva-analitica with a non-experimental design, transactional. The population was confirmed by fourteen (14) coordinators and directors of private universities. Data was collected through a survey, using a questionnaire of 45 items. Content validity was obtained by five (05) expert opinion, while reliability was calculated using the coefficient Alpha of Cronbach, giving a r's 0.96. The analysis of the results focused through the use of relative frequencies and concluded that coordinators and directors of the University private are in accordance with the implementation of the strategic planning in the events taking place in the organizations. To this end, the research generated a series of strategic guidelines in order to ensure compliance with the objectives, followed by recommendations theoretical - practice which will allow an optimal performance of the management of events.
