The work of the media is intimately linked with some fundamental rights such as freedom of expression, the right to information and the right to communication. However, in some cases and in developing their function, they may cause harm to individuals, either by massifying information in a wrong way, deficient, inopportune, distorted, or violating a fundamental right. These damages must be compensated to those affected, in order to do so it is possible to go to the civil jurisdiction in order to interpose the different actions of extracontractual civil liability and / or go to the contentious-administrative jurisdiction, through an action of direct reparation against the State for being responsible for the control and monitoring of these means of communication.
