The present paper exposes several innovative methods of advanced oxidation for the treatment of leachates, which are the product of sanitary landfills due to the solids deposited in them, whose main goal is to counteract the environmental impacts that these last generate. Nowadays, an adequate handling or treatment of leachates is not considered, which generates a large amount of waste that could be totally harmful to the environment and human health and alter the landfill process if it is not provided an adequate disposition. On the other hand, environmental policies are currently predominant, which is why it is necessary to carry out studies and alternatives that allow the adequate disposal of the waste generated from the different processes of the Leachate Treatment Plants – LTP
