In this paper, we will talk about the basic concept of weighted theory as an interpretative method. Later, we will make a theorical approach to two versions about that method. First, we have the Robert Alexy’s idea, who defends a weighted way that includes numerical values; and on the other hand, Manuel Atienza who proposes an elementary structure when we have to carry out the deliberation method. Finally, we make a jurisprudential analysis of the sentence T-1023 of 2010, which is put into practice the method mentioned before, concluding that the version that best suits the interpretative and argumentative structure of the Colombian Constitutional Court is Atienza’s approach.
