In recent years, risk management has become a strategic issue, of great importance for the development of a country, hence the enforcement of regulatory actions and procedures that allow risk control in different sectors. This research establishes a solution for risk management in public primary and secondary schools in the city of Manizales. Bibliographic and normative review is used as a starting point to establish the current state of school risk management in 31 educational institutions in Manizales. There is already the presentation of a school risk management model and a technological solution to reduce uncertainty that generates different adverse events in the school environment. School risk management model for public primary and secondary education public institutions of the Municipality of Manizales and software prototype for information management. Finally, its necessary to standardize the processes associated with school risk management in educational institutions as a basis for their proper implementation, in the benefit of children, adolescents and young people in the country, notwithstanding the level of maturity achieved in the measurement made. The model is expected to contribute to this end.
