This article shows some results on the coexistence in the classroom, as part of a research carried out in the Nueva Generacion Educational Institution (IENG acronym in Spanish) in the municipality of Sachica, Boyaca. The research has a qualitative approach; where research-action was carried out, with a critical perspective from the social studies. The main objective was to promote interaction in the classroom to transform intolerance into environments of coexistence, taking into account a socializing pedagogy, as a participatory, transversal and interdisciplinary action methodology, because this situation has been identified as a problem in the results of the ISCE 2014-2015 Educational Quality Synthetic Index (ISCE acronym in Spanish). Therefore, during the year 2016 meetings were held between tenth grade students and students from the rural buildings of the Nueva Generacion Educational Institution, which were called “Interaction Days”, as a curricular proposal for the Institutional Educational Project (PEI acronym in Spanish); after that, significant attitudinal changes were evidenced, which contributed to transform problems such as intolerance, thus enabling a better atmosphere of coexistence.
