This research had the purpose of favoring the appropriation of structural concepls of the genelic through analogies in students of basic education of three official institutions. For that. were selocted the structuring conccpts from a bibliographic roviow. once stablished was designed an analog source and 10 sessions with three group of 10 students oach. of the threoinstitutions. From a mixed methodology (qualitative and quantitative). concept maps and conceptualizations oi students were analyzed to measure the degree of appropriatlon of the proposed structuring concepts. As a result of the investigation. it was possible to estabtish the use of analogies as a strategy that facilitates the learning of concepts more abstracts of the genetics in an understandable way In addition, recognizing the role of structuring concepts in the building of the learning as guiding principies for more complcx knowledge and its importance for the reconstruction of the conceptual framework. In the same way. the importance of the knowledge of the genetics in the understanding of the scientific context in favor of the formation of cntical citizens scientifically fonmed.
