This article contains some studies related to female leadership from an educational setting based on intra and extra-school experiences generated by women. The main objective of the research supported by this article was to determine the status of research on women's leadership in education. To this end, the qualitative approach was used as a method, with emphasis on documentary review, in which articles traced in different scientific databases were analyzed. This analysis focused on aspects related to contributions, experiences and challenges regarding female leadership in this area. The results indicate that this article is a reflection on the importance of favoring the consolidation of this topic around different scenarios, especially within the educational context regarding women's participation in today's society.
