espanolUn esquema para comprender mejor las discusiones generadas al interior del fenomeno de los Sistemas de Armas Autonomas Letales (LAWS, por Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems), es el propuesto por Arnold Pacey, quien en su obra La cultura de la tecnologia considera que la practica tecnologica incluye no solo la innovacion, el diseno y la construccion, sino tambien la operacion, el mantenimiento y la utilizacion. Por lo que propone una triada constituida por aspectos de orden cultural, organizacional y tecnico; los cuales permiten comprender la tecnologia como una “practica” o “proceso”. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo identificar aquel o aquellos elementos que componen los actuales avances tecnologicos de los LAWS y desbordan las dimensiones de la tecnologia propuesta por Arnold Pacey y que, por tanto, no posibilitan analizar el fenomeno en su total y nueva complejidad. Todo artefacto tecnologico esta rodeado de una trama de actividades humanas, que van desde los intereses personales de quien las disena, pasando por el desarrollo industrial y avaluo economico, hasta el uso, mantenimiento e interiorizacion a la vida por parte del usuario. Cada agente que participa en el proceso tecnologico, le imprime sus propositos y valores particulares, por lo que la tecnologia termina adaptandose a la circunstancia que le va correspondiendo. De manera que se hace necesario estudiar la tecnologia LAWS evaluando su integracion social; de ahi que se indague su estructura, como esta organizada, permitiendo pensarla como una practica dinamica, adaptada y configurada de acuerdo diversos factores y no ser comprendida de manera homogenea.
