Resumen: Este ensayo, centrado en la busqueda del sentido en Cien anos de soledad de Gabriel Garcia Marquez, es un intento por mostrar que el mito y la historia constituyen una dualidad que se entreteje para producir el sentido de esta obra literaria, y una manera de entender la identidad latinoamericana. Para alcanzar tal sentido, se aplicara el modelo de analisis de produccion de sentido desarrollado por Luis Alfonso Ramirez en el que contempla tres niveles componenciales basicos: el de la historia, el de la narracion y el del discurso, siendo el segundo el eje central de este analisis, en tanto es el genero discursivo que, por antonomasia, representa la cuentistica y la novelistica garciamarquiana. Tales niveles se abordaran en ese mismo orden, no sin antes senalar que el punto de partida ha de ser el nivel de la narracion, enfatizando en la intertextualidad como eje fundamental que permite encontrar el sentido en la obra. La hipotesis que se intentara comprobar en este texto es la de que la soledad de America Latina, fundamento de su identidad generada en el aislamiento y la incomunicacion propios de estos pueblos, esta caracterizada por la confluencia de la concepcion mitica e historica del tiempo, intertextualizada con los grandes relatos universales y autoctonos. Abstract: This essay focused on the search for meaning in One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, is an attempt to show that the myth and history constitute a duality that is interwoven to produce the sense of this literary work, and a way of understanding Latin American identity. To achieve this sense, we will apply the analysis model of meaning production developed by Luis Alfonso Ramirez in which includes three basic componential levels shall apply: the history, the narration and discourse, in this case, the second one is the core of this analysis, because it is the discursive genre par excellence that represents the short story and the novel garciamarquiana. Such levels will be addressed in that order, but not before noting that the starting point should be the level of the narrative, emphasizing intertextuality as the linchpin to find the meaning in the work. The hypothesis that we attempt to verify in this text is that the solitude of Latin America, the foundation of their identity generated in isolation and own isolation of these villages, is characterized by the confluence of the mythical and historical conception of time, intertextualized with the great universal and indigenous stories.
