The implementation of the Authorized Economic Operator program has become a matter of greater importance, both in Colombia and in the Latin America region. In this paper, through a qualitative approach, the regulations of some countries in that region are analyzed, as well as the relevant information from international organizations such as the World Customs Organization. Analyze the importance and benefits of the implementation of this program and determine its specific incidence in the Colombian case are the objectives of this research. The analysis reveals that Colombia can promote the certification of actors in the logistics chain, strengthening knowledge and fostering the commitment of the parties involved.
