This practice report was made with the purpose of reconstructing the historical memory of the National Union of University Workers and Employees (SINTRAUNICOL) - Universidad del Valle Subdirective, between 1963 and 2017. In this sense, the reconstruction of the facts was established from of two axes: the first is related to the union dynamics, where account is given of the conjunctures, labor conflicts, mobilizations, alliances, conquests and other political processes carried out by SINTRAUNICOL; the second is a recount of the acts of violence suffered by leaders and trade unionists, or by the organization as a whole. From these two lines the story seeks to identify the different political trajectories in the history of this union. After the presentation of the report of memory, some analyzes are raised in relation to the memory process and the role of trade unionism in it, using authors such as M. Halbwachs, for the concepts of historical memory and collective memory; R. Ruiz, with his proposal of the organizations; M. Cordoba, and M. Urrutia, with their views on trade unionism and its political role. This work was carried out in the framework of an academic practice with the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Escuela Nacional Sindical (ENS).
