Determination of structural gaps in the integration of social responsibility in higher education institutions in the Central-South region of the department of Caldas. Methodology: Descriptive, quantitative study with an empirical - analytical approach, which consisted in the application of an instrument in higher education institutions based in the central-south region of the department of Caldas based on the ISO 26000 standard, the statistical analysis of the information collected and the determination of structural gaps in the integration of social responsibility. Results: Except for the variable governance of the it can be established that there are no significant differences in the variables, of the fundamental subjects, in relation to the nature of the institutions (public or private), the application of the same instrument shows that the largest gap is in “organizational governance” with 67% implementation. Regarding the “orientation of the integration of social responsibility throughout the organization, the results presented the largest gaps to be closed by the universities that participated in the research, with an implementation percentage of 39%. Conclusions: Higher education institutions do not have a management system for the integration of social responsibility. The universities' awareness of the benefits of implementing social responsibility, which are the improvement of sustainability, image and reputation, is heightened.
