Its purpose was to contribute to the commercialization of the coffee and to provide services to improve the socioeconomic conditions of the associated coffee growers and other residents of the municipality of Planadas, Tolima. There is no scientific evidence, which shows whether the cooperative has fulfilled the objective for which it was created. Reason that motivated the realization of the present investigation, in the sense of knowing if CAFISUR has affected the satisfaction of the socioeconomic needs of the associates in Planadas from 2007 to 2016. For this purpose, the method of the proposed Cooperative Social Balance was used by Alvarez (2011) and Alvarez (2017). Two types of balance were built: 1. assess the degree of compliance with cooperative principles (cooperative identity) from a sample of 62 partners 2. Social balance where the calculation of the transferred benefits total that CAFISUR grants to its associates was reflected. The investigation allowed to know that compliance with the cooperative principles of the ICA and the valuation of the benefits transferred by the COOPERATIVE, shows actions aimed at satisfying the needs of the associates and the rest of the community. It also influenced the positive transformation of the structure of coffee production and rural development in the municipality of Planadas Tolima.
