The present work of degree aims to reveal the dynamics of internationalization of Institutions of Higher Education in the Department of Quindio during the period 2008-2015, it was developed in four stages: The first methodological stage consisted in collection, search, selection and revision of specific and specialized bibliography related to the subject of study, in the second methodological stage, the theoretical framework was built and the conditions for the selection of HEIs object of study of the department of Quindio, establishing the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, in the Third Methodological Stage, the categories of analysis for this study were identified, both in the background and in the theoretical framework, as well as in a study elaborated by Alma Mater, proceeding to its definition and operationalization; And in the Fourth, an analysis of the behavior of the HEIs was carried out based on the documentary information, and the field work through the interview guide, collecting the information of interest of the study, then proceeding to its corresponding systematization and analysis of results, assisted by the AtlasTi software, and the identification of the level of internationalization of the HEIs, which were complemented by the interview with an expert in University internationalization, finishing this stage with the elaboration of conclusions, recommendations and limitations The study. The results of the study allow us to conclude that the main problem for the internationalization of HEIs is the lack of administrative and managerial will and the allocation of resources to carry out actions that promote them abroad by supporting their programs and projects, contributing to the development and Competitiveness.
