The current text refers the process of insertion and reuse of techniques such as weaving and embroidery within the repertoire of action art. Through the analysis of various pieces of performance art, especially in the Ibero-American sphere, it is evident how the technique is liberate from its functional character and is converted into an artistic form able to install an alternative aesthetic discourse from the sphere of the everyday and the domestic. The different works analyzed is showing the rescue of the craft techniques as a critical and communicational device, and how the actions of weaving, sewing or embroidering creat a performative space, where the process and the relationship between the artist and the spectator constitute the artwork.
