The research institutes that belong to AZCUBA develop an important role in promoting Knowledge Management, which will help make a necessary jump in the policy and strategy to be followed in the face of the new changes that will have in the future. One of these institutes, the Instituto de Investigaciones de la Cana de Azucar (INICA), has been the main institution for sugarcane research and scientific-technical services in Cuba during 53 years. In this paper we present methodological guidelines to integrate knowledge management with the results from scientific research works done by the INICA. This will contribute to an effective decision making and its application in production process. During 2006 to 2017 it was made a diagnosis to learn how the information process evolved inside the institution. This institution has been always a center that developed Knowledge Management in different ways, and it has become a reference in the country. In that time were define the different steps and stages to be followed according methodological guidelines to create a knowledge network and promote it throughout the country.
