The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between work stress and work engagement in the production area of a manufacturing company in Dosquebradas (Colombia). For this aim, a non - experimental study was performed by having a 238 workers sample (F = 218 - M = 20), as a Stress Test Questionnaire and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9) was applied. The reliability of the instruments (Cronbach's alpha) was 0.90 and 0.88 respectively. Results point to an inversely proportional relationship between the work profile stress and the engagement dimensions, for which the working hypothesis is accepted. Additionally, differences regarding the type of contract were found. It is recommended to manufacturing companies to propose intervention programs for the prevention of both work stress and engagement promotion.
