The article presents a reflection on the role of higher education in the construction and dissemination of a culture of peace, through critical pedagogy, under the capitalist system and expansion of the neoliberal model traverse organizations of higher education. Are some of the developments in higher education, culture of peace and their expressions in some of its functions. It is concluded that despite the widespread recognition of critical pedagogy and their contributions in the training process, is still waiting for its deep implementation to contribute to peace in its various manifestations of social reality and contravening the expressions of violence as way to resolve social conflicts.
