The awareness of the conservation and proper use of water is increasingly present in the approaches to the development of cities. In the case of Bogota, water bodies such as rivers and wetlands are often understood and related as residual spaces, sources of pollution and insecurity. In Fontibon (Bogota), the alteration of the environment and the urban imbalance, which have been consolidated in the sectors surrounding and bordering of the Capellania Wetland, there, the emergent and asynchronous development of urban fragments with divergent activities (industry, services, housing) and multi-scale interactions, supported by high-impact mobility infrastructures, among them, the Longitudinal Avenue of the West (ALO), have been confining, reducing and altering, until the deterioration, the environmental system of the wetland. This environmental alteration and the urban imbalance translates into the functional fragmentation of the territory and the lack of means of intersectoral articulation, become negative and hamper the development potential of this area of the western part of the city. The urban intervention for the integral urban-environmental articulation of the Capellania Wetland in Fontibon has the purpose of overcoming the situation of dissociation of the territory and the deseasonalization with the urban environment and the balance between these elements that have been consolidated in the sectors that surround and confine the Capellania Wetland. These emerging developments will be consolidated in a proposal that unites the urban fragments with activities and spaces to make a great piece of the whole city. The proposal is oriented as an integral urban development aimed at urban, social and management variables; But with an emphasis on the environmental field.
