This project focused its efforts on developing an element that would positively contribute to the rehabilitation process of a person with transtibial or infracondylar amputation, during this first year of rehabilitation it is essential that the prosthesis is adapted to the constant changes suffered by a stump due to loss of muscle mass. During the first year, a person with this type of amputation may need at least four changes of prosthesis due to the modification of muscle mass, costs and access to these elements is limited in some segments of the Colombian population, unlike the military that has the support of military entities to change their prosthesis every three years or whenever it is necessary. That is why we have focused the project on enhancing the existing elements to make their useful life longer and more profitable.
