The humanized birth is a model of attention to the birth, its goal is produce changes in the care of the professionals of the health , and offer an special moment in the pregnant women, with fullness, in conditions of human dignity, freedom and protagonist to take decisions about the conditions that the pregnant women wants to give birth, trying to decrease in the pregnant women bodily sensations of fear and insecurity trough a care support from the nursing staff based in the humanized care and the women’s pregnant wellness or the person who is with her. Goal: Describe the standards to do the attention to the humanized birth in health institutions in a period of (2000 – 2017). Methodology: Include two moments, the first one is about the collection of articles related to the humanized birth in databases BIREME, ProQuest, Google Scholar and university libraries that allow to recognize the ethical and normative guidelines as well of the development; besides it included a phase of determination in a data matrix where it takes the information out about the process in countries as Colombia, Brazil, México, United States, Uruguay, Perú and Spain. Conclusions: The humanization of the birth consider the psychological and emotional needs of the pregnant women bringing the normative and ethical aspects back related to the dignified treatment of the pregnant women. Furthermore, the information that she is gonna receive abouth the birth and the nursing role who can fulfill with the humanized birth.
