The control of conventionality is the mechanism that allows to ensure compliance with international treaties and agreements on the actions of the States Parties, ensuring the supremacy of the American Convention on Human Rights with respect to the domestic legal systems of the States; However, at present and in accordance with the proceedings of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, an effective and adequate exercise of conventionality control within the Inter-American Human Rights System is not conceived.
