The aim of this investigation was to determine the kind of television proposal more appropriate to teach the children from Monteria to protect the threatened animals in Cordoba. To design the form (structure) of the proposal and part of its content, they were applied a survey and brainstorming to 105 students of fifth grade of three schools of Monteria in order to know their television habits and what they would like to watch in an educational television programme which subject would be the endangered animals in Cordoba. To establish the rest of the content of the proposal, they were developed concepts such as: environmental education, communication and education, and children’s educational television. The integration of the theoretical concepts and the students’ opinions by a research process and theoretical basis, but also by a creative design (not by a copy of television formats) in which the children’s reality and their television preferences are reflected. resulted in a television proposal characterized not only by a research process and theoretical basis, but also by a creative design (not by a copy of television formats) in which the children’s reality and their television preferences are reflected.
