B.rubicundus natural history is a scientific-educational research in which descriptive and photographic observations of a bumblebee species (very common bee in our moors) were performed. In the research 8 students, ages 13 and 17 participated. These students belonged to the IED Juana Escobar, institution located in the vicinity of the Green Cross wasteland in the city of Bogota. This academic process provided new knowledge about the history of life (bionomics) of B.rubicundus and used the habitat of this species as a setting for learning, so that students will develop a systemic view of the context including the natural characteristics of the moor. The data obtained during the investigation allowed to know the foraging habits of this bee, and also allowed to quantify the proportion of visits that these bees make to flowers of various species of plants and understand their eating habits and reproduction throughout the year (phenology). The exploration of the concepts and environmental performances of students, obtained from a sample of 127 students, encouraged the introduction of new practices in environmental education using the Cruz Verde moor as a model.
